Last week, the first trailer for the upcoming second season premiered on the BBC. Modeled after last year's excellent "Do You Want to Come with Me?" preview, the new spot opens with the 10th Doctor telling the viewer that if they thought the first season was amazing, just wait until you see what the second one has in store. And judging from what follows, the upcoming season will certainly top last year.
We're shown quick clips from most of the episodes of the first half of the season (one episode seems not to be represented). Although somewhat dominated by New Earth, the opening story of the new season, we do get a good taste of School Reunion, Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steel and especially Tooth and Claw, with it's flying Shaolin monks and amazing CGI werewolf. The Girl in the Fireplace is the only early story not featured in the trailer, although a few clips from it can be seen in the preview from the end of The Christmas Invasion.
Overall, the trailer isn't quite as effective as last year's, but it does do an excellent job of whetting the appetite for the second season. April 15th can't come soon enough.
