club updates! television! radio!

Well, I must have been half aleep when I wrote my last post (which is odd, because it was during my lunch break, and I didn't receive any snoring complaints from my cowokers... ;) ). I mentioned that the All Saints Day Halloween party was this Saturday, when in fact, it is not. The party is next Saturday, November 1st. Sorry about that!

I knew I forgot something in my last post-if you haven't had a chance to check out the Yahoo list lately, John posted a new poll for those planning on going to Chicago Tardis next month. Need someone to share a room with? Check out the poll!

Don't forget! The Sarah Jane Adventures are all new on BBC One!

For those who have been listening to Radio 7 on a regular basis-what do you think of their new format? For me, it took some getting used to, but I think I'm starting to like it.

TAFN-everyone have a great weekend!!!

Club updates

Well, the trick to posting on a regular basis after your internet is set up at your new place is to actually be AWAKE when you want to post! Ha! I think the adrenaline that kept me going over the past month is starting to wear off. ;)

Enough of my lame excuses-now lets get on to some club business!!

First of all-welcome to all of our newest members! Whether you are coming back to us after being away for awhile, or are delurking-you are all welcome here! :)

Next-Just a little reminder-Marcia has been asked by the "game show gurus" at Marcon if we would like to run another Doctor Who themed game show at 44. If there is any interest, please respond to her post on the Yahoo list. They would like to know by the end of the month if there is any interest, and Marcia told them she'd let them know no later than our next meeting. If you're interested, speak up!!

Finally, last, but not least! We will be having an All Saints Day Halloween Party this Saturday at Andrew's!!! Bring your leftover Halloween candies! Kids welcome - costumes encouraged! Enjoy some spooky fun with the Doctor Who crowd, as we eek one more party out of a holiday! *hee*

Festivities start at 2pm-join us for candy, fun, new episodes of the Sarah Jane Adventures and spooky-themed Doctor Who episodes! Hope to see you there!

Hey everyone!

For those of DWC who are involved with Marcon this year-don't forget, there is a Marcon media track brainstorming session this Sunday, October 12th, at Lee's! The fun starts at 1pm and will run until about 7. Help us determine panel topics for the Media Track for Marcon 44 (2009). For more information, please checkout the post on the Yahoo group. Also, if you need directions, contact Carrie.

Torchwood
I haven't been very good with keeping up-to-date with news about the upcoming season of Torchwood-for that I apologize. To tease you a bit-they are currently filming in Cardiff, with the series set to premiere in early 2009.

For more info,(and some details about new cast members!) check out the article on SyFy Portal: http://www.syfyportal.com/news425449.html

October steering meeting!

Hi All! It's time for our monthly steering meeting!

Our steering meeting will be tomorrow, Oct. 2nd, at Tommy's Pizza on Lane, from 7-10pm. We will discussing details on our next couple meetings and events. Topics will include the usual: current projects including recruitment, Logo, flyer design, Marcon 44 and more! Come volunteer and decide where we're going as a club!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Andrew.

Hope to see you there!

Oooh, need a spinoff fix? Don't forget, the 2nd series of the Sarah Jane Adventures has started in the U.K.!!! Check out the recently revamped homepage, http://www.bbc.co.uk/sja/ for more details! Also be sure to check out Sarah-Jane.tv for news, reviews, and interesting/fun tibits! (shameless plug, I'm sorry ;))

(Unfortunately, due to rights reasons, the BBC has been cracking down a bit, so some of the content on the homepage may not be available for those of us outside the U.K.)
