Grandview Theatre update on Torchwood

Well, unfortunately, it looks like the Grandview Theatre will not be pursuing Torchwood this season. :(

Cheer up, though-Torchwood is returning to our screens TONIGHT! The first episode of Torchwood: Miracle Day starts at 10 pm EDT on Starz, and no, you are not imagining things-Torchwood is indeed airing 6 days earlier in the US than in the UK. The BBC just released this statement regarding the recent complaints from UK fans. After reading the statement, I have to admit I wondered if that was the reasoning.

Torchwood! Tonight! 10 pm on Starz!!!! BE THERE! (if you can-silly premium channels...)

Listen to Doctor Who podcasts? Ever want to be a part of one yourself? Here's your chance!!

John, from our sister group The Ohio Type 40 up in Cleveland, is looking to start an all-Ohio Doctor Who podcast! So far John and Chris will be heading the Ohio Type 40 contingent, with contributions from Jen from Friends of the Time Lord down in Cincinnati, but we need YOU!!! :)

We will be doing current events in both the world of Who and in our respective groups. In addition we will do an episode review of the most recent episodes. When there is no new Who, we will look at classic series episodes as well as talk to members from the three groups via skype.

Interested? Have any questions? Please contact John by email at mrcm4tbl[at]yahoo[dot]com.

We hope you will join us in this exciting new chapter of Ohio Doctor Who fandom!!

Doctor Who series 6 Premiere Party

Don't forget our Doctor Who Premiere party, tomorrow! The party starts at Andrew's, then will move to the Grandview Theatre for the premiere of series 6!

From Andrew:
"The Party at my house will begin at 4pm. We should have snacks and drinks available. We will be showing any relevant news and interviews I can come up with. At the moment that will include 2 or 3 of the Craig Ferguson episodes including tonight's with Karen Gillan. I know I've at least one request to show an introduction to Dr. Who. I have the Doctors/Enemies/Companion specials as well as the pre and post-Eccleston specials, More than 30 Years in the TARDIS and others to chose from. There will also be the Sarah Jane 15 minute special which will certainly be shown too.

For the theater:
Their current movie will be ending at 8:30pm or so, so unfortunately we can't watch all of the pre-episode special being shown on BBC America. However barring accidents we will show the Sarah Jane special before the airing of the episode at 9pm.
After the episode they are going to show a movie again, so if anyone is interested in return to my house for more fun, and viewings they are free to do so."

If you have any questions, contact Andrew (his info is in the DWC Yahoo list).

Hope to see you there!

I will probably be writing up a tribute of my own sometime within the next few days. Andrew is creating a video tribute which he is planning to show during the "Look Behind You!" party on Saturday.

Farwell, Sarah Jane.
