DWFO #8: the 50th Anniversary Suite

In case you missed it, here's the Doctor Who Fan Orchestra's 8th presentation, the 50th Anniversary Suite!

Originally scheduled to be released before the 50th Anniversary, real life became rather busy for our fearless leader, Stephen Willis, so it was postponed to a later date. The final product was released on December 20th, and it was worth the wait!

And yes, that is Ben Foster (conductor) in the video!!!

Our next piece will be 'Martha Meets Shakespeare'. More details when the time comes (although honestly, if you want to take part-it's better to follow the DWFO on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube-because of the cutoff for the number of participants, by the time I see the video for new participants, it's already full!)

Time of the Doctor at Grandview!

Happy Holidays, everyone!!!

I'm sorry for the lack of posts after the 50th. Thanksgiving and Christmas sort of crept up on me, and I haven't had time to post!

Exited about the Doctor Who Christmas Special? Want to see it on the big screen? You're in luck! The Grandview Theatre will be showing The Time of the Doctor starting at 9 pm tonight!

As always, the event is free! Please be sure to visit the concession stand to help show your support and to thank them for continuing to offer Doctor Who on the big screen!

BBC America is having an all day Doctor Who marathon, which includes the re-airing of Day of the Doctor and a new special, Farwell to Matt Smith, all leading up to The Time of the Doctor at 9 pm.

Enjoy and Happy Holidays!

December meetup!

Hey everyone!

Just a friendly reminder that our monthly meetup will be tomorrow at the Kingsdale Market District from 7-9 pm!

Andrew has changed the day of our monthly meetups from the first Thursday of the month to the first Tuesday of the month-hopefully this will work better with people's schedules.

The 50th anniversary may be over, but now we have the Christmas special to look forward to!  Come join us for food, fun and a chance to talk about our favorite Time Lord! :)  Hope to see you there!

Also, if anyone has any stories/photos they would like to share on this blog from the 50th anniversary, or Chicago Tardis, please email me!
