We are certainly busy this weekend! :) If Origins didn't tire you out too much, join us tomorrow for a morning movie and lunch!

We will meet around 10am at Eastern or Lennox AMC theaters for a morning movie (priced around $5) and then afterwards lunch at Johnny Rockets to discuss the movie. (Please check the Yahoo list to find out where we will be meeting. I didn't catch the update before I left for vacation-I'm sorry!)

DWC at Origins

Author note: this is a scheduled post while I'm away-please check the List for any further updates-Thanks!!)

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow we will be attending Origins as a club! We will meet at registration (near the long escalators), around 10am.

Origins is a gaming convention held in the convention center every year - a lot of fun guests, games of all kinds, and a pretty good dealer room is the tradition. Tickets run under $10 a person, and coupons may be available for a buy one/get one free discount in local papers. For more information, see http://www.originsgamefair.com/

Be sure to check the Yahoo list for any last minute updates!

Hey, hey! Don't forget!

Hiya, everyone! Boy, I'm excited-today is my Friday! Tomorrow, I will be on VACATION! Yay!

Okay, lots of stuff coming up this weekend. First, if you haven't already done so, vote in the poll Carrie created for which movie you would like to see on Sunday. It closes today, so head on over to the Yahoo group, and put in your vote! :)

Saturday, June 27th we are meeting at Origins at 10am.
Sunday, June 28th, is morning movie and lunch, starting at about 10am.
Thursday, July 2nd is our steering meeting starting at about 7pm, place TBA.

Since I will be on vacation, and I'm not sure how much time I'll have for internet access, I will be setting this blog to post reminders for the weekend events. Be sure to keep an eye on the Yahoo list for final plans for next Thursday's steering meeting.

TAFN-everyone have a great weekend!!! Don't forget, the Next Doctor premiere's on BBC America this Saturday at 9pm!

A belated welcome, and concom meeting

In my last post, I neglected to welcome our newest member, Sidley. My apologies, Sidley!!!! Welcome!!!!!! I even had it written down to write about it-I feel like such a dork. *facepalm*

I also forgot to mention that this Sunday is the Marcon Concom meeting-starting at 1pm at the Whetstone library. This is the meeting where we will vote for next year's chair. If you were on staff and would like to vote-come to the meeting on Sunday!

TAFN (I think!) ;)

A weekend of events...

Hiya, folks! Just a reminder- it was determined at the steering meeting that our next monthly gathering would be July 27th & 28th, rather than this weekend. We have some activities planned for the weekend:

Saturday the 27th we'll attend Origins Game Fair as a club.
Origins: http://www.originsgamefair.com/

Origins is a gaming convention held in the convention center every year - a lot of fun guests, games of all kinds, and a pretty good dealer room is the tradition. Tickets run under $10 a person, and coupons may be available for a buy one/get one free discount in local papers.
We will meet at registration (near the long escalators).

Sunday the 28th we'll do Morning Movie and Lunch
AMC runs movies for $5 before noon, we'll see a film and then review it over at Johnny Rockets for lunch. We will be meeting at either Eastern or Lennox (final place to be determined next week)

(Thanks for the update, Maureen!)

And, finally-I know it's been a long time coming, but I did manage to post some of the pictures I took at Marcon to my Flickr account.

Here's my favorite image:

I may be adding more later, but I'm not sure.

Have a great weekend!!!

More updates!

First of all, welcome Bill, our newest memember from Norton!!! We hope you like it here. :)

Ok, I know I said I'd try to get my pictures posted by the end of the week...but it just didn't happen. New goal: next week! ;)

However, thanks to Carrie and Lee, we have a couple more links of our favorite Weeping Angel!!

And this has got to be one of the best pictures, ever: Angel and baby

It's been quite a busy week for Doctor Who and both of it's spinoffs! Here are a few more news bits:

The Doctor's new companion is announced

BBC America gets first-run rights for the 2008/9 Who specials

...and...

a new trailer for Torchwood's Children of the Earth is here-yay!

Marcon, welcome, and some show news

First of all, I'd like to welcome Cindy from Springfield! Welcome, Cindy!!

Next, it was great seeing all of you at Marcon!! Our video room was a success again this year! Special thanks to Andrew, for creating the playlist, Jarrod, for working out the schedule, and to ALL of our volunteers!!! Without you, we couldn't have done it!

Congrats to Betty, for winning the Hall Costume prize-her costume was fantastic! She made a very convincing Angel from Blink-it was fun to listen to the con-goers try to figure out if she was real or not. ;) She was mentioned in this blog, and can be seen in this photo set posted by members of the USS Maximillian.

I'm currently fighting a cold I seem to have picked up, but I hope to post some of my pictures to my flickr account by the end of the week.

(Thanks to Maureen, Andrew, and Lee for the news/links!)

So! If you had been hearing certain rumors regarding our favorite show and it's spinoffs around the con, some of them have been confirmed by being officially announced!

Spoiler phobes, beware the following links:
(btw, they all say pretty much the same thing-just an official announcement, and some fan blog takes)

Spoiler link 2
Spoiler link 3
Spoiler link 4 -with a couple of more links in the post!

Marcon 44!!

Hey everyone! Hope to see you at Marcon tomorrow!!! I'll be around-in the video room, attending panels. Be sure to check out the parody 'Doctorre Who' with the Confused Greenies Saturday evening!! :)

I never did get around to making my Sarah Jane costume from the Hand of Fear, but I did manage to scrape together 2 costumes from the Sarah Jane Adventures-they aren't perfect, but as with all my costumes, I start of basic, and then improve as the cons go by. I may also be totting around my "K-9" (my childhood stuffed dog dressed as K-9) ;)

Look for me! My badge will have 'Romanadvoratrelundar' on it. (I don't remember if I also included 'DWC') I may edit the badge to also say 'Romana1 on Sarah-Jane.tv', (like I should have done at the beginning of Chicago Tardis! )

Before I go, a little bit of random news-the Doctor Who graphic novel, Forgotten ranked within the top 300 graphic novel sales in April! It ranked no. 77! Woo! Click here for full article.

See you at Marcon!!!
