Now the long wait until there is new Doctor Who. *sigh*
The New Beginnings dvd set will be released in North American on June 5th, 2007. The set will include the Keeper of Trakken, Logopolis, and Castrovalva, just like it's UK counterpart. I believe the extras will be the same as well. Yay!! [TvShowsonDVD link]
I think this was already mentioned in the DWC group, but just in case you missed it- 40 PBS stations have bought the Christopher Eccleston Doctor Who package, including
WCET in Cincinatti! (you lucky ducks!) How about bringing it to Columbus, and Cleveland, or even Akron? (Hey, I could hook up my old fashion rabbit ears and try to get Akron's station. LOL) [Outpost Gallifrey link]
The Saturn award nominations are out, and Doctor Who has scored two of them: BEST SYNDICATED/CABLE TELEVISION SERIES and BEST TELEVISION SERIES RELEASE ON DVD. [Outpost Gallifrey link]
David Tennant says series 3 is choc-full of monsters! (He also says the rumor about Brittney Spears was just a joke gone wrong-thank God!) Warning: mild spoilers [SyFyPortal link]

DWC February meeting
Hey everyone!
Don't forget, the February DWC meeting is this Saturday, the 24th, 6pm at City Barbecue.
We will be meeting for a meal and a chat. Conversations will probably include results and news from GallifreyOne Convention in L.A.. As well as from the Marcon planning meeting on Feb 18th, which at least one of us will have attended. As always Dr. Who news will be on the table. By then we should have 2 episodes of Life on Mars to keep us busy talking too.
As always, please see the DWC Yahoo group for directions and contact numbers.
Thanks!

Just for fun: Doctor Who influences Little Orphan Annie? (from Outpost Gallifrey)
I haven't been reading many official reports about Doctor Who or either of it's spin offs. Most of what I've been reading has just been speculation-you have been warned! ;)
According to Outpost Gallifrey, John Barrowman suspects that Torchwood's second season will premiere in early 2008. [Outpost Gallifrey link]
Apparently, there is also a delay in the production of the Sarah Jane Adeventures (which was due to start filming in April). According to a fan who attened the SF Ball in Bournemouth last week-Elisabeth Sladen was there, and mentioned that the delay in the production of SJA was due to a delay in the production of Torchwood. [Sarah Jane.tv link]
Series 3 casting...rumors(?) I'm not all that familiar with British newspapers, so I'm not sure how reliable the Independent is. (if anyone from England happens to be reading this, please forgive me!) They have a major spoiler regarding the casting of John Simm from Life on Mars. [Outpost Gallifrey link] Plus a short follow up.
TAFN, happy Who watching!

Series 3 will start in March! (we think!) The Doctor Who Magazine will be previewing the first episode, Smith and Jones in their issue that comes out on March 1st, so there has been some speculation that the series will start around March 24th(the last day the issue will be on the stands). When I hear something more official, I'll post it here. ;)
Speaking of rumors, please, dear Rasilon, let this one be wrong.
...Davies wants more Hollywood in Who?!?! The BBC wants to add more glitz in the hopes of getting more viewers here in America and at home?! Are they kidding? Please, please, please let this only be a rumor!!!
