First of all, welcome mstarrtrekker! Mstarrtrekker is the manager of Starbase Columbus, and will be keeping us updated on events that are happening at their store. :)
Tomorrow, Thursday, April 30th, is our monthly steering meeting (for May, yes, I know, not quite May yet-but it will be by the end of the night!;) ) This is no ordinary meeting! It will start off at the usual place (which has been Tommy's Pizza on Lane as of late) for Marcon planning, and will end up at the Lennox Theater for the Wolverine (uh, I mean X-Men Origins ;) ) movie premiere! Anyone interested in attending the movie, go ahead and visit AMC and purchase advanced tickets for LENNOX. http://amctheatres.com. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Andrew.
Also, Andrew has posted the playlist for our video room at Marcon next month. If you are on the video staff, please be sure to email Jarrod so he can write the schedule. Let him know if you have any restrictions, or plan on attending any panels that might conflict with a schedule. Remember we are trying to give everyone 3 hours in the video room, and 3 on backup, with the hours in 1 1/2 hour blocks or so, so bear that in mind. Remember that the room is 24 hours, so volunteers for the night shift are also appreciated.
We will be having 2 additional steering meetings for the month of May to discuss Marcon stuff. Mark your calendars for May 7th and the 14th (especially if you are on staff!! Please try to attend one of our steering meetings before Marcon) Remember, Marcon 44 is British themed, so let's show our support!!!
Thanks! Hope to see you there!
(All contact info can be found in the DWC Yahoo list.)

March meeting!
Gah! I need to set a reminder in my phone, so I'm not posting these reminders so close to the event!
Don't forget-tomorrow, March 28th, is our monthly meeting, starting at 7pm at Andrew's. Andrew wants to remind you all that he works until 7, so if he's a little late getting back, not to worry! :) (directions and his contact info can be found in the files section in the DWC Yahoo list)
We will be discussing a lot of Marcon details, such as guests, panels, video room, and decorations. We'll also certainly be watching some new British stuff like, Being Human.
Also, a reminder- deadlines for Marcon are approaching : panel registration (March 31st) and staff registration (April 15th). More about these will be discussed at the meeting.
Hope to see you there!

Blue Jackets Family Night
Hi guys-
Just a quick reminder that tonight's the night for our group family outing to see the Blue Jackets take on the Chicago Blackhawks!
Game time is 7-if you have any last minute questions, be sure to give Andrew a call!
Have fun-wish I could join you!
...if anyone is inclined to take some pics, send them along to me and I'll post them on the blog! (pics from others have a better chance at getting posted than my own-how do you like that?!? LOL.)

Steering into March...
Hiya Folks!
Don't forget, tomorrow, March 5th, is our monthly steering meeting at Tommy's Pizza on Lane Avenue, from 7-9pm.
Also, don't forget that the deadline for Marcon 44 panelist registration is coming up (March 15th). Check out the files section to see the list of potential panels, and the reminder post on list. It would be really awesome if we had alot of participants! (speaking of which, I need to give the list another look myself...)
REMINDER! (yes, another one!) If you are interested in attending a Blue Jackets game with the group and haven't already done so, please respond to the update poll Andrew posted with available game dates. (I haven't heard the final word and the poll is still open, so I assume this is still ongoing. ;) ) I wish I could join you guys (I love hockey!) but sadly, I cannot make any of those days. Have fun!
Special thanks to Mreen for keeping us updated with all of the British SciFi radio shows that are airing on BBC Radio! One of these days I'll get back to posting reminders here as well... For Nicholas Courtney and Terry Molloy fans (the Brig and Davros), don't forget the latest episode of the Scarifyers is still up on Radio 7's Listen Again section!
Hope to see you tomorrow at the steering meeting!

Group outing for the Blue Jackets game
Hi everyone! This is just a little reminder that this Saturday, February 21st, is the DWC Family Night Out at the Blue Jackets game. The game starts at 7 at Nationwide Arena.
A couple of notes: First-Andrew has created a poll for the event-if you haven't already done so, please respond to the poll to let him know you are coming-the sooner, the better, because as Marica pointed out, the weekend games have become rather popular. Andrew has also sent an email through the Yahoo list, and has asked that you respond to that as well to let him know if you are bringing anyone.
Second: Marcia has posted a few tibits for Blue Jackets game first-timers. (Thanks, Marica!!!)
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Andrew. Also, keep an eye one the list, just in case the game is a sell-out and we need a back up plan. ;)
Thanks!

January meeting
Don't forget our January monthly meeting is tomorrow, Jan. 17th, from 5-9pm at John's. Andrew will be bringing some leftovers from the New Years party (pop, Christmas candy, etc.), and John will have the usual hummus plus crackers. If anyone would like to bring cold cuts, hamburgers, or hot dogs-that would be awesome!!
Let's watch some of the best bits of the latest in British sci-fi, fantasy, and genre comedy. ALSO we will be watching Ruby In The Smoke with Billie Piper and the brand new 11th Doctor Matt Smith. Bring along some snacks and sides and enjoy Doctor Who from the comfort of John's house. Join us for fun, food, and chat!
Also, John has posted a flyer about the digital transition next month. WOSU is looking for volunteers to help answer questions about the transition, etc. John's got all the details and will discuss it at the meeting.
As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact Andrew!! :)

Steering meeting tonight!
Hi everyone!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! I've only been back to work for a few days-still trying to dig myself out of the backup work! ;) I'm sorry I missed the holiday party and the trip to WhoNA. Hope you guys had a great time! :) Believe it or not, I'm still planning on posting some of the pics I took from Chicago Tardis-I know it's been awhile, but I didn't have the time to post them before I went on my Christmas vacation.
On to business!! Our January steering meeting is tonight, from 7-9pm at the Rusty Bucket on Lane Avenue. Join us for good food and great conversation. We will be talking about our latest news and events, deciding our future and just hanging out! Contact Andrew if you have any questions. Everyone is invited-hope to see you there!
Also, don't forget our monthly meeting is Saturday, January 17th. I'll be posting more details later. :)
