Next Stop Everywhere Episode 6!

In case you missed it, the Next Stop Everywhere Podcast has a new episode available!

From Charles Skaggs:

"Now, I imagine you have many questions.  Fire away, I won't answer any of them."

Despite some rather annoying audio quality issues, Jesse Jackson and I are back with another episode of Next Stop Everywhere: The Doctor Who Podcast.

This time out, we give our thoughts on "The Caretaker," the sixth episode from Doctor Who Series Eight, including things like Clara juggling her life in time and space with the Doctor and her teaching at Coal Hill School on Earth with her boyfriend Danny Pink, the first meeting between the Doctor and Danny, why Alex Kingston needs to return as River Song, why people travel with the Doctor when it's so obviously dangerous, what happened to the house that was next to the barn in "The Day of the Doctor," our popular Reverse the Polarity segment and more!

You can find them on iTunes and  Stitcher. If MP3s  are more your thing, you can download them here. :) Also be sure to give them a Like on Facebook and a follow on Twitter!

Also up is a new poll for The Caretaker-be sure to put in your vote! :)

Of Polls and Podcasts...

Hello everyone!

You may have noticed that I created polls to give fans a chance to rate the latest episodes of Doctor Who.  I am going to attempt to do this with every new episode (although I missed 2 week's worth).  I included a poll for Listen in addition to Time Heist. Please bear with me, and many thanks to those who have voted!

Next, I would like to mention a new podcast featuring our very own Charles and Jesse! Next Stop Everywhere will include episode recaps, news, analysis, and predictions about Doctor Who will be discussed on this weekly podcast.

They have just released their 5th episode! Charles and Jesse discuss the fifth episode of the 8th series: Time Heist.
You can find them on iTunes, Facebook, or at Next Stop Everywhere. Give them a listen and be sure to rate and review their podcasts-it helps others find them! :)

I would also like to welcome our newest member, Eric!! Welcome, Eric!

Hey, hey! Don't forget!

Hiya, everyone! Boy, I'm excited-today is my Friday! Tomorrow, I will be on VACATION! Yay!

Okay, lots of stuff coming up this weekend. First, if you haven't already done so, vote in the poll Carrie created for which movie you would like to see on Sunday. It closes today, so head on over to the Yahoo group, and put in your vote! :)

Group outing for the Blue Jackets game

Hi everyone! This is just a little reminder that this Saturday, February 21st, is the DWC Family Night Out at the Blue Jackets game. The game starts at 7 at Nationwide Arena.

A couple of notes: First-Andrew has created a poll for the event-if you haven't already done so, please respond to the poll to let him know you are coming-the sooner, the better, because as Marica pointed out, the weekend games have become rather popular. Andrew has also sent an email through the Yahoo list, and has asked that you respond to that as well to let him know if you are bringing anyone.

Second: Marcia has posted a few tibits for Blue Jackets game first-timers. (Thanks, Marica!!!)

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Andrew. Also, keep an eye one the list, just in case the game is a sell-out and we need a back up plan. ;)

Thanks!

Well, I must have been half aleep when I wrote my last post (which is odd, because it was during my lunch break, and I didn't receive any snoring complaints from my cowokers... ;) ). I mentioned that the All Saints Day Halloween party was this Saturday, when in fact, it is not. The party is next Saturday, November 1st. Sorry about that!

I knew I forgot something in my last post-if you haven't had a chance to check out the Yahoo list lately, John posted a new poll for those planning on going to Chicago Tardis next month. Need someone to share a room with? Check out the poll!

July steering meeting and a bit more...

Hi everyone! I'm back! I survived my trip home with only a few bruises, some muddy shoes, and about a gazillion mosquito bites...(well, not really, but it sure felt like it!) Lots of outdoor activities, but we still had time to have a family Doctor Who night. Best line of the night? My twelve year-old neice: "You got me hooked on Doctor Who." :-D (*goood, goood*)

Anyhoo, sorry for the late update here-I was having issues logging into Blogger:

Our July steering meeting is tonight!!! 7-10pm at the Rusty Bucket on Lane Avenue.
Come volunteer and decide where we're going as a club! We will be discussing details on our next couple meetings and events, as well as talking about current projects including recruitment, Logo and flyer design, Marcon 44 and more.

www.doctorwhocolumbus.com has been renewed!!!! A big THANK YOU to everyone who contributed!!!

Be sure to check the yahoo group-we have a couple of open polls going on. :)

Contact Andrew if you have any questions about the steering meeting-hope to see you there!!!

Jeopardy Meeting and other news

Hey All!

First of all, welcome to our newest member, Tina! :)

Don't forget, we are having a meeting this Thursday, February 28th! We will continue our search for questions and answers for the Doctor Who Jeopardy, and discuss the future of the club, flyers, Marcon, GallifreyCon, etc. Thursday's meeting will be at Tommy's Pizza on Lane Ave., starting at 7pm.

In case you haven't already heard, the theme for next year's Marcon (Marcon 44) has been chosen: British SciFi!!! Congrats to everyone who went to the ConComm meeting on Sunday to help make this happen. You guys rock!!

Speaking of Marcon, don't forget-we are doing the British SciFi video room again this year. Andrew has sent us a reminder-if you haven't already done so, go vote in the poll and let us know what you would like to see in the video room this year.

If you are stuck at home this Wednesday, SciFi is having another Doctor Who marathon, starting at 8:00am EST, with Series 1's Aliens of London and will run throgh the Parting of Ways.

Polling time!!!

No, I don't want to know who your favorite Presidential canidate is-these polls are more fun!!! ;)

We currently have 2 active polls running for DWC:

1. Where would you like the next DWC steering meeting (February 7th) to be? We are changing locations in order to facilitate the brainstorming of questions for the Doctor Who Jeopardy game we are creating for Marcon.

Poll ends February 7th.

2. We are having another video room at Marcon this year!! Go and vote on five, (and only five!!) shows that you would like to see represented in our British Sci-Fi and Fantasy TV room. Where are Doctor Who, Torchwood, and Sarah Jane in this poll, you may ask? Don't worry, they are already included in our lineup!! :-D

No end date (yet) for this poll-but the sooner the better, so Andrew can have some idea of what the most popular shows are.

Be sure to log into the DWC Yahoo group and vote in the polls! Thanks!!!
